Aerodynamic

FLIGHT

Aim: To learn about flight and aerodynamics.

  • In your groups of 3 you will make a paper plane and measure its distance and behaviour.
  • In groups of 3 you will make a water rocket and record its distance and behaviour.
Image result for flight forces

Definition:

4 forces of flight:

  1.  Gravity
  2.  Thurst
  3.  Lift
  4.  Drag

Paper Plane:

Material:

1. paper
2. paper clip

Steps:

1. Fold the paper in half.
2. Fold it like a triangle on a paper then fold it down.
3. Fold it like a triangle again.
3. Fold in each side.

Findings:

Plane Type
Distance
Behaviour
Normal
4.9m

straight
Ailerons
4.7m
spins
Rudder
1m
swoop

Conclusion:
I have learned that 4 forces flight is Gravity, Thurs, Lift and drag. I threw my paper plane in the first attempt and it went straight, my second attempt when I put a paper clip  when I threw it, it was spinning then my third attempt and I cut on both, it went swoop.

science, chemistry, gas, Balloon

Aim: To see which chemical
mix creates the most gas.

Hypothesis: I think that both experiments will not be the same reaction because two recipes might have deferent air or might not work.

Materials:
  1.  2 balloons
  2.  2 bottles
  3.  3 tsp salt
  4.  cup of soda
  5.  3 tsp baking soda
  6.  cup of vinegar
Steps:
  1.  Put 1 cup of vinegar inside of a first bottle.
  2.  Put 3 tsp baking soda inside of the first balloon.
  3. Put the balloon inside the first bottle so the baking soda will come out.
  4. Put 1 cup of soda inside of a second bottle.
My images:

Findings:

Balloon 1
( 3 tsp baking soda, ½ cup vinegar)
Balloon 2
( 3 tsp salt, ½ cup soda)

Balloon Size (cm)
24cm5.5cm
Bubbles
(small, medium, large)
mediumsmall
Conclusion:
The Balloon 1 was blown in 24cm and it was medium size, The balloon 2 was 5.5cm and it was size small. We put in the balloon 1 was 1/2 cup of vinegar and 3 tsp of baking soda, We put in the balloon 2 was 1/2 cup of soda and 3 tsp of salt. It was super duper interesting and satisfying to watch the balloon blown, and also exciting :).

science,chemistry, forenesic

this week blog we started doing an experiment in science about forensic but we are learning today so let me tell you about some of the work we have done with group Christian, Lasa, Nikora and me.
Aim:  the aim today is to see what the water-based pen will do with our paper when the water was put on to the cup.

Materials:

  1. plastic cup,
  2. water,
  3. paper
  4. water-based pen.

Steps:

  1. The step was to get a paper.
  2. Measure the paper and put a line in 1cm
  3. Put two dots with a waterbased pen
  4. Put in a cup.
  5. Put water in a cup.

Conclusion: what I have learned this lesson was following the steps like getting the paper and lining those up. I also learn that the water-based pen was going up and the colour was spread. I learn that this is about forensics like crime photography .

Hurumanu

Drama
This week I have a new subject in Hurumanu and in Drama, we played five games it was Two truth and one lie, copy dancing, guest the leader, freeze frame and follow the leader. we play guest the leader game so in guest the leader game, the rule were the guys who were in have to guest he leader. in Drama I would like to play is Grama footstep. In Drama, we were split into a group of 3 or 4 in our group we have to freeze in three seconds and say something about your action.

Chemistry

Aim: To learn the names of 10 household chemicals and identify if they

are a solid, liquid or a gas.

Equipment:

  1. Soap
  2. Lemon Juice
  3. Salt
  4. Sugar
  5. vinegar
  6. Milk
  7. Onion gas
  8. bleach
  9. Baking soda
  10. Lemonade

Steps:

1. Put the 10 chemicals in a chart with the titles - name
2. Put the image on the chart
3. Finish the chemical in the chart
4. repeat

Repeat the steps for all the chemicals.

Task 1: Put the 10 chemicals in a chart with the titles - Name, Chemical

ingredient(s), Image, Solid/Liquid/Gas.
