Esol

In the last few weeks of term 3 we've been doing these leassons in Esol. I am writting and reflecting aboout those lesson.

We get to read a book called skink gully, its about cathing bad guys and solving the mysteries and. we got to learn about the small creatures like skinks, Some are rare and some are common. Once we finish one chapter each we get to work on work sheets that our teacher made for us, It was quite easy because we memmorised what we read on the book and we get to know about the characters in the book.

Sadly we didn't get to finish the book we ware reading. Maybe next term we like to finish reading it or move on to the next lesson like movie study, I would be looking forward of what we do next term.

New Article

BREaking NEWss EVerBody The pacific ocean is being polluted by a lot of trash and the Fish are eating the microplastic accidentally without knowing its food. EVEN the big plastic called fishing nets is being ended up in big whale bellies, and the whale can not be able to poop out phytoplankton that produces out 80% of the world Oxygen. Without that the ocean will die and soon we will struggle to exist anymore.

i do not finish but I'm posting anyway

Monday, 24 May 2021

 Hello my preendss!

In the past few weeks for social studies, we were learning about plastic pollution in the ocean and so we watch a couple of videos and a movie to reflect on what I have learned from. I wrote a question to myself on what I've done so far.

What you have learned so far (Great Pacific GArbage patch, PLastic Pullotion, phytoplankton)???

It shows us that the plastic dump has becoming more of a problem as it gets into the ocean a lot more and whales are dying and end up stranded on the shore, with their 50 pounds of plastic inside their stomach. I also learned that whales poop out a Phytoplankton which produces oxygen "ALLOT OF OXYGEN THAT covers 70% OF THE EARTH OXYGEN PRODUCTION"Save the Plankton, Breathe Freely | National Geographic Society

What do you think?

This made me feel so bad about the sea animals and the sea itself. This how the ocean today and can't do anything to help.

What we can do about it/Thing that has already been done?

So I know that the government have already been doing research on plastic pollution that is happening in the ocean and so the if they are doing that then maybe we reduce our rubbish to reducing rubbish by stop using plastic bags and use reusable items

Metal Reaction

Testing for Hydrogen Gas, Sound of POP test.

The aim is to make a metal oxide and observe the difference and properties of the product compared to the reactants.

1. MEtal + Acid

  • Equation

Metal + Acid = Metal salt + Hydrogen

Magnesium + Sulfuric Acid  = Magnesium sulfate

  •  Method

1. Put 2ml of sulfuric acid and a piece of magnesium metal inside the test tube.

2. Boiling tube inverted to collect any of the gas that is produced.

3. light up a splint and hold the boiling tube that has gas inside

  •  Conclusion

When I inserted the flaming splint inside the boiling test tube while the Hydrogen gas was inside, It made a pop sound so it means that there oxygen that is trapped in a boiling tube.

Testing Out FOr the Presence of oxygen.

Aim: To carry out the test for the presence of gas (O2)

Equipment: A pea-sized amount of manganese dioxide (MnO2), Boingtube, bottle hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), Woden splint, Bunsen burner, test tube rack, and don't forget a safety glasses.

Method

1. Add manganese dioxide in a boiling tube.

2. add 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide.

3. lit up ur splint with a bunsen burner.

4. Blow up ur burning splint and insert the glowing embers into the mouth of the boiling tube.

5. You will see the tip of the splint will get reignite and it's bery bery aswesome!!!.

Thae Conclusion:

When the acid was added into the boiling tube I can see a bubble of gas that was released.

Do They Know It's Christmas?

"Do They Know It's Christmas?" is a song written in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in reaction to television reports of the 1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia. ... The song was also a major success around the world, reaching number one in thirteen other countries outside the UK.

Do they know it's Christmas? Lyrics

It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmas time
But say a prayer, Pray for the other ones
At Christmas time it's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing
Is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring
There are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life
Where nothing ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
Here's to you
Raise a glass for everyone
Spare a thought this yuletide for the deprived
If the table was turned would you survive
Here's to them
Underneath that burning sun
You ain't gotta feel guilt just selfless
Give a little help to the helpless
Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
(Feed the world)
Feed the world
Feed the world

Acid Rain experiment

 Hello again my precious prends!!

So today my class is gonna experiment with something but I do not know yet, but I think we're experimenting with something about acids. So here we go guys, but i write about the acid rain first.

What is acid rain?

Acid rain, or acid deposition, is a broad term that includes any form of precipitation with acidic components, such as sulfuric or nitric acid that fall to the ground from the atmosphere in wet or dry forms. This can include rain, snow, fog, hail or even dust that is acidic.

What is our Aim????

Our aim is to observe the effects of acid.  "Aaah ok ok".

Hypothesis.

Petal, Calcium Carbonate, Apple, Universal indicator, Bromothymol Blue.

Method.

In a Petri dish place items around the edge. Wet dry ingredients with a drop of water. In the middle, put a weight bout.

Observation

The Universal indicator changed its color to red, Bromothymol blue to yellow, and Petal to lighter clour of its color. and the only color that didn't change were calcium carbonate and apple.

Gallipoli Campaign | The Last Post.

 Hello my prends!!!!!

Welcome to another blog for today.

So today my class were studying about the Gallipoli Campaign, a war between British New Zealand and Australia against Ottoman Empire. and we listened to the song called The Last Post

The Last Post

Every 25th of April you will hear this song which is ANZAC Day. This song is commemorated as the end of the day’s war (Peace), and a funeral to those who died in the war.

The Origins and History of The Last Post

Gallipoli Campaign

The Russians who were fighting on Germany's eastern front wanted the British and French to tackle the Turks to reduce pressure on Russia. The Anzacs Joined the British and French in a dreadful baptism of fire at Gallipoli. The British commanders anticipated that the Gallipoli peninsula would be "open to landing on very easy terms" and Turkey would have a force of only 40,000 to meet them. On 25 April 1915, the Anzacs landed at a difficult and desolate spot on the Gallipoli peninsula and the Turks appeared to be ready for them.

Atomic Science: Periodic Table

Hello guys, today I am writing something about the periodic table that i learned in science.

What does the periodic table show us?

  • Mass Number

  • Element

  • Atomic

  • Different column

  • Different rows

  • Features of the elements.

Alkali metals

Transition metals

Gases

The Periodic Table shows us the mass numbers on each element / atomic. On the Periodic table, there are different columns and rows on each. On each row, there are different features of the elements (Alkali metals, Transition metals, and Gases)

Periodic Table Of The Elements Turns 150 | WUWM

Alkali metals: Alkali metals react with any other element on the periodic table. Alkali metals have an unstable outer shell, so… The Alkali metals consist to get rid of their electrons by sharing. And that is why they react and explode because they have reacted.

What are alkali metals

  • 1st column

  • Electron in outer shells

  • What does it mean?

Parihaka, Tim Finn & The Herbs

Hello everybody!!!, Welcome to my blog.

today for my blog I am writing about the song that my class listened to. Called Parihaka, by Tim Finn & The Herbs. This is a song that was written about Parihaka that happened 140 years ago. And I have to answer the questions about the song I listened to and about what happened in Parihaka, and what is the meaning behind it.

What is the main message of this song?

The main message for this song is to stay peaceful during the tuff time during the time that happened in Parihaka.

What line explains their passive resistance method?

I know Te Whiti will never be defeated,

And even at the darkest hour,

His presence will remain.

I'll sing to you the song of Parihaka.

What does ‘you can’t pull out the roots’ refer to?

This means that you aren't allowed to pull them out or touch them or they will take your home away if it happens.

How does this song show the significance of Parihaka?

They were trying the get an understanding to others about the hidden message they have put in the song

and to let people know.

What makes an event Significant?

It inspired the other leader around the like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King about the passive resistance.

How many people were affected?

It affected 100 people especially the people in the village.

Parihaka by Tim Finn   Original Soundtrack

My friend, My friend, I hate to see you suffer,

Events conspire to bring us to our knees,

My friend, my friend, you've taken this the wrong way,

Rise up, defend yourself, never give in,

Look to the sky, the spirit of Te Whiti,

The endless tide is murmuring his name.

I know Te Whiti will never be defeated,

And even at the darkest hour,

His presence will remain.

I'll sing to you the song of Parihaka.

Te Whiti he used the language of the spirit,

Then stood accused, the madman and his dream,

He saw the train go roaring through the tunnel,

He heard the voice travel on the magic wire,

But he loved the silence of the river,

He watched the dog piss on the cannon's wheel.

I know Te Whiti will never be defeated,

And even at the darkest hour,

His presence will remain.

I'll sing to you the song of Parihaka.

One day you'll know the truth,

They can't pull out the roots,

Come and take me home,

To weep for my lost brother.

They gather still, the clouds of Taranaki,

His children's children wearing the white plume,

So take me for the sins of these sad islands,

The wave still breaks on the rock of Rouhotu.

And when you taste the salt that's on your pudding,

And when you taste the sugar in your soup,

Think of Te Whiti, he'll never be defeated,

Even at the darkest hour,

His presence will remain,

I'll sing for you the song of Parihaka,

Come to Parihaka,

Weep for my lost brother,

The spirit of nonviolence,

Has come to fill the silence, Come to Parihaka.

Underground Railroad, Music through time

The use of spiritual is a type of religious song. they were sang in informal gathering of slaves in outdoor meeting called "brush arbor meetings," or "camp meetings". At the meeting, the participants would sing, chant, dance, and sometimes enter ecstatic trances.

They would used to.

  1. Uplift slaves

  2. Give them hope

  3. Church, funerals, and if allowed weddings

  4. And to relay secret messages to help them escape. Like Wade in the water

What if these were used to be massage, a way to escape the slave's states, and it was written by Harriet Tubman. The message she uses WADE IN THE WATER was very effective and helped other slaves to escape the Slave's state. This was a message to cross through the water, it loses the scent where dogs cant track off the escaped slaves. She was wanted, dead or alive in the Slaves state.

The reason why I have chosen Relax in my letter R, It represents me as a relaxed person when I'm at  home in bed watching Youtube and sleeping a lot.I pick young in my letter Y is because I am still 14, single and I still have a long way to go to learn, to achieve and to never give up when i'm feeling low.
